As Liverpool continues its economic growth one sector that has become popular for investment is the visitor economy. For 2017, Liverpool had over 62 million visitors to the region generating £4.3 billion to the local economy and supporting 51,500 jobs. This was 1 million more visitors than was recorded for the previous year. The city has also caught the attention of overseas visitors making it the 5th most visited UK destination increasing hotel occupancy by 2% in data from the Liverpool Enterprise Partnership.
