The East London location of Stratford had its growth begin with the Olympics and with its excellent transport services (Zones 1 & 2), education, culture and leisure infra-structure have had its local property prices increase over five years by 82%.
It is expected that property values for 2019 could see a 4% increase and a 13% growth in rental rates.
Stratford and Bromley-by-Bow have become popular locations for city workers, entrepreneurs that has helped to get prices to rise. Bromley-by-Bow is now the fastest growing location in the Tower Hamlets borough. The report finds that 72% of the ‘high status buyers’ are in Tower Hamlets. The wider area of the East London, including Stratford and Bromley-by-Bow, are expecting 50,000 new jobs, over 40,000 new homes to be constructed and an increase in population of 12.8% between 2019 and 2029. The developers for the new homes at Three Waters at the River Lea include Mount Anvil and Peabody.
More attractions expected to bring property demand include four new universities campuses, new employment opportunities by Revenue & Customs, BT Sport and Transport for London.
London mayor Sadiq Khan has pledged £1.1 billion for a new cultural and educational hub, the East Bank, which will feature the BBC, London College of Fashion, Sadler’s Wells, English National Ballet and the V&A.
